EMO

(Elie Moukabed)

Son of the Saints' Valley  in the heart of the Lebanese mountain, the eye has bathed since childhood in a universe of natural beauty.

The war accompanied his youth, leaving a melancholy trace that can be seen through his works. The fluid brush style and the melting colors have been replaced by jerky and nervous knives stokes and a searching for accentuated contrasts.

He uses oil and acrylic colors for a predominantly figurative style. Careful work with small knives or brushes that excites the curiosity of the passerby and pushes him to stop to discover ...

Self-taught, his style is completely personal without academic influences, inspired by the great masters of the Renaissance and the Impressionists. He draws on old subjects and styles but mixes his colors directly on the canvas. Nature is for him an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
